Privacy Policy

Effective 5 August 2026 · Last updated 5 August 2026

AlgebraPulse is a math study aid for Grade 7–10 algebra and trigonometry. It is built so that the work you do in it stays with you. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what happens to your information — including the few narrow cases where something does leave your device.

The short version

We do not have a server, and we never receive your math. There is no account and no sign-in. Your questions, photos, solutions and progress are stored only on your iPhone. We do not use analytics, advertising or third-party trackers, and we do not sell or share your data. The only information that ever leaves your device is what Apple and our subscription provider need to process and verify a Pro subscription — and that exchange contains no math and no name.

1. Who we are

AlgebraPulse.com ("we", "our", or "us") acts as the data controller for the personal information collected through our platform and services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your data.

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact our Data Protection Officer at: contact@AlgebraPulse.com.

2. Information stored on your device

The following is created as you use the app and is kept only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else:

Questions you enter — equations you type or that are read from a photo.

Solutions and working — the steps the app produces, kept as recent history so you can return to them.

Practice progress — attempts, correct answers, mastery level, and which topics you have practised.

Preferences — settings such as whether you have seen the introductory screens.

You can remove individual history items inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of this information from your device permanently. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot recover it for you, and we hold nothing to delete on your behalf.

3. Camera and photos

If you choose to photograph a question, the app asks your permission to use the camera. The image is analyzed on your device using text recognition built into iOS. The recognized line of text is shown to you for confirmation before solving.

Photographs taken while scanning are held in memory only for as long as it takes to read them. They are not saved to your photo library, not stored by the app, and not uploaded anywhere. If you instead pick an existing image from your photo library, the app reads only the image you select and does not browse, index, or retain the rest of your library.

You may refuse or later withdraw camera and photo access in iOS Settings. The app remains fully usable by typing questions instead.

4. Subscriptions — the one place data leaves your device

Solving and all step-by-step work are free. AlgebraPulse Pro is an optional paid subscription that adds printable PDF hand-in sheets and unlimited practice. If — and only if — you purchase, start a free trial, or ask the app to restore a purchase, two third parties are involved:

WHO WHAT THEY RECEIVE WHY

Apple Your payment details and App Store account information, handled entirely by Apple under its own terms. To take payment and manage the subscription. We never see or receive your payment card details.

RevenueCat

(our subscription provider) A randomly generated, anonymous identifier for the installation; the App Store purchase receipt; and basic technical details such as device model, operating system version, app version and country. To validate the receipt with Apple and tell the app whether Pro is active — including across your other devices when you restore a purchase.

We do not send RevenueCat your name, email address, phone number or advertising identifier, and we do not send it any of your math, questions, photos, solutions or practice results. RevenueCat acts as our processor; its handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.

If you never purchase and never restore a purchase, the app checks once whether a subscription offer is available and otherwise stays silent. Solving works with no network connection at all, including in airplane mode.

5. Notifications

If you begin a free trial, the app offers to remind you before the trial converts to a paid subscription, so that the charge is never a surprise. Permission is requested at that moment and not before. The reminder is scheduled locally by your iPhone; no notification service receives your data, and we are not told whether you allowed it. You can decline, or turn notifications off later in iOS Settings, without affecting anything else.

6. What we do not do

No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage tracking.

No advertising, no ad identifiers, no ad networks.

No third-party trackers, pixels, or social media SDKs.

No selling, renting or sharing of personal information — for any purpose, including targeted advertising.

No profiling, and no automated decisions that affect you.

No accounts, passwords, email addresses or contact details collected.

7. Children and students

AlgebraPulse is intended for school students, typically aged about 12 to 16, and is designed to be safe for that audience: it requires no account, collects no personal information, contains no advertising, and includes no social, chat or user-to-user features.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children of any age, because the app is not built to collect personal information from anyone. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will investigate and delete anything we hold.

Purchases require an Apple Account and are subject to Apple's parental controls. We recommend that families use Ask to Buy or Screen Time restrictions where appropriate.

8. Legal bases for processing (UK and EEA users)

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, ours are: performance of a contract, for the limited subscription information needed to give you access to Pro features you have paid for; and consent, for camera access, photo access and notifications, each of which you grant explicitly through iOS and may withdraw at any time in Settings.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

In practice, most of these rights yourself and immediately: the information the app creates is stored on your device, so you can view it in the app, delete individual items, or remove all of it by deleting the app. For the limited subscription records described in section 4, contact us at Contact@PurposeMeetsAI.com, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. Because those records are tied to an anonymous identifier rather than to your identity, we may need the purchase details from your App Store receipt to locate them.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not process sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics.

10. Data retention and security

Information on your device remains until you delete it or delete the app. Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed to administer the subscription and to meet their legal and accounting obligations.

Data stored by the app is protected by iOS application sandboxing and by your device passcode and encryption. Communication with Apple and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Apple and RevenueCat are based in the United States and may process the limited subscription information described in section 4 there and in other countries, using safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where required.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and for any material change that affects how your information is handled we will make the change clear within the app before it takes effect.

13. Contact

Questions, requests or complaints: Contact@PurposeMeetsAI.com. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our Terms of Use explain the rest of the agreement.
